The Green Monster Smoothie

Don't we all need to hulk out with energy for our work days? I notice a marked difference in no smoothie days than green monster smoothie days. And the best part? They're freaking delicious and you can not taste the loads of fresh spinach in them. It tastes like a shake, for real.

We bought our Nutribullet Pro last year, and by gosh it is one of the best purchases ever. If you have a Vitamix*, that's cool, tell me your financial strategy BECAUSE I COULD NEVER. Any decent blender will shred the greens down to nothing.

Don't get me wrong. I love raw greens in the form of salad, and cooked greens with my dinner, but add in some cocoa and peanut butter, and my friends, it's a party. In your mouth. A healthy party disguised as a pizza party with 80's dance music. Everyone's favorite!!! Right?.... Right....????

OH and one more amazing thing? You can freeze these smoothies!!! Anything that will keep me in bed for 15 more minutes, I'm doing it. Because really? This is me in the morning.

What you need for one smoothie:

-1 large handful of fresh spinach

-1 banana

-1 scoop of vegan vanilla protein powder*

-1 teaspoon of 100% unsweetened cocoa powder

-1 tablespoon of natural creamy peanut butter

-1 packet of stevia

-1 cup of unsweetened almond milk

-3 or 4 ice cubes

You don't have to add protein powder. Mike doesn't always add it in, so for him I just put a dash of natural vanilla. I need the extra protein. But either way, this baby will taste like a bomb diggity milk shake. I assure you. Repeat until you have as many as you need. Or, if you're really cool and you have a Vitamix*, just double or triple the recipe sizes. We load ours up in mason jars.

Stick them in the freezer right away! They will last about 4-5 days! Just take one as you're on your way out the door for work, and it will be nice and ready for you when you get there! These are also great after a workout. Or for a snack. Or for lunch. Or forever. Always. And so healthy. Gluten free, vegan, loaded with vitamins and minerals from the spinach alone, and a hell of a lot of potassium from that there nanner.

Word on the street is kiddos love these, too. So, load the freezer up and hulk out, sweetly, tomorrow at work!

*I am just jealous of your Vitamixes. ;-)
